RECIPIENTS POSTCODE
> WHERE TO ENTER THE RECIPIENTS POSTCODE
The recipients postcode should be entered in the box
which is located below the "County" box
in the Delivery Details section of the order form.
RECIPIENTS POSTCODE > IMPORTANCE OF THE POSTCODE
The postcode is one of the most important features
of any address. For UK delivery addresses, a complete
and correct postcode allows us to check most of the
rest of the recipients address details.

UK POSTCODE AREAS
The whole of the UK is divided into post code areas.
A smallest unit of a post code will contain a small
group or cluster of houses which will be geographically
close together. By knowing the post code it is possible
to find a property much easier when making a delivery.

DEALING WITH INCORRECT POSTCODES
Where an incorrect postcode is supplied, even if the
code is only slightly different from the correct one,
even by one number or letter it will show a different
group of houses or properties. Please be extra careful
where a code is copied from a hand-written version
or given by telephone. We will always try to check
and correct a postcode, coming back to your where
time allows for verification.

time to check or where we have tried to contact you
receiving no reply, we will proceed with your order
using the information you have supplied.

UK POSTCODES
All UK postcodes fall into two sections. (example:
L15 2AB, AB24 1ER)
The first section is normally
commonly composed of two letters, examples AB, Aberdeen,
DA, Dartford, NG, Nottingham, SO, Southampton, EX,
Exeter. Single letters are used in main areas such
as London N, S, E, W or Sheffield S, Liverpool L.
In the first section the letter
or letters are followed by one or two numbers. Examples
are: AB24, E9, NG21, SO45, W1, DA2
The second section is usually
one number followed by two letters. Examples are 1ER,
5DX, 6AP.
There are a few exceptions to
this with certain London codes where an extra letter
has been introduced in some main codes. Example W1V
3AT. Another exception is where a larger business
may have its own postal code which does not follow
any logical pattern except for the first letter.

INTERNATIONAL POSTCODES
Postal codes are used in so many different ways
in most other countries. They vary from no codes used
at all in Ireland to number codes of differing length
in many other countries. Some countries use only number
codes others number with letters. The pattern of the
digits can also be important.
We regret that we have very
few ways of checking international postal codes and
will have to rely on each individual customer supplying
a full, good and true code with each order. Postal
codes in some countries are essential and if given
incorrectly can cause problems, misdelivery, delays
and lead to disappointment.
It is very often useful to use
the poscode in some countries to verify that the address
given relates to the intended district and that we
are sending to the correct part of the country. Even
more important when there are several places of the
same name in the same country. The postcode can be
the only way of telling one from another.
