UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > OVERVIEW

We entitle this section UK florist deliveries. The information contained in this section will refer to all orders placed through the "UK florist flowers" and the "Your Choice Flowers" sections of our site.
UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > DELIVERY COVERAGE
We include the following areas, mostly for same working day delivery, in this section:
England
Wales
Scotland
Isle of Man
Northern Ireland
Channel Islands

We have delivery coverage to most delivery addresses within the above areas. It is important to note that same day delivery may not be possible to some places owing to local distances and communications. This is especially true in parts of Scotland, especially some/parts of the west coast islands. Other delays may occur where part of the delivery involves the use of public transport or a ferry.
We regret that we do have few areas, which have become non-delivery areas for our florists because of the lack of florists in that area or short term holiday closing by a individual florist. We will notify any customer placing an order for one of these areas. It is not possible to list these areas as they are constanly changing and be updated. It may be possible to arrange delivery to these addresses through our UK Postal Flowers service but only for the products available from that service.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS
We work at very short notice with orders placed through this service. All delivereies must relate to the prevailing UK time. Delivery is possible on all UK working days including a Saturday to most locations in the areas listed above. This is particularly true where orders are pre booked.
The day and time of placing your order will influence how quickly it can be delivered. Same working day delivery is possible for most orders placed and received by 09:00 hrs, except to more outlying locations, islands and places which rely on delivery by public transport or ferry.
For most delivery addresses within the UK we offer a same day delivery for orders placed up to 12:45 with the possibility of accepting orders up to 16:00 hrs in some areas. Where we only have one florist covering that area and they close for half day the cut off time could be sooner on that day.
Other services are available for quicker deliveries and in a few cases out of hours deliveries. Please contact our office before placing your order.
Please see links below to soonest delivery chart.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > ORDER INFORMATION
The successful delivery of any order is governed by the accuracy of the delivery information provided from our customer through our office to the florist delivery driver. We all appreciate fullest and correct delivery information.

Please imagine our florist driver trying to make delivery of your gift in a rural location, miles from anywhere, in a winters afternoon, when it is getting dark and just starting to rain, looking for a named house. The recipients have just moved in a and nobody really knows them, the house name plate has been lost in the move. How would you fare? It gets even better when our customer has given the wrong or mis spelt house name, no road name and no telephone number!
We are very fortunate that many of our florists work on a local basis, they have been in business for many years building up a wealth of experience in making deliveries, noting the changes in their areas. They do still rely on being given full and correct information. In some areas long delivery distances are involved. It is important that the driver can set out with full delivery information. Returning the order undelivered, through incorrect information, can mean that it will not be delivered that day as requested.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > POINT OF DELIVERY
As soon as the florist driver has found the delivery address the delivery will be made. For the successful delivery, the driver will make contact at the address with the recipient or their agent. The product ordered will be handed to the recipient who may be asked to sign the drivers documentation to confirm delivery.
Where the correct address has been found and there proves to be nobody at home or available to receive the gift the proceedure will be left to the florist drivers discretion.
UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > LEAVING WITH A NEIGHBOUR
The first and more normal course of action will be for the driver to look for a nearest neighbour who is currently at home and ask them to accept the gift on behalf of the recipient.

Here the neighbour could be asked to sign for the delivery. It would be expected that the neighbour would be at home and able to pass on the gift to the recipient on their return.
A card would be put through the recipients door to explain where the delivery had been left. We need to point out that this service provided by the neighbour would be offered and accepted in good faith.
We are unable to control the actions of the neighbour and their treatment of the gift. We regret that should the neighbour themselves go out leaving the gift locked in their house and rendered unavailable we would have to await their return to allow the recipient to receive their gift.
In the event of a complaint from the recipient we would act to try to correct any problem should this be notified within reasonable time from the time of delivery considering the perishable nature of the product.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > COMPLETING THE DELIVERY
Where, at the florist drivers discretion, a neighbour is not available to accept the gift or especially in more rural areas where the delivery address is more secluded, the gift may be left in a suitably secure or protected place awaiting the recipients return.
A calling card would be left through the letterbox or placed in a significant position ready for the recipients return, explaining where the gift has been left.

This may not be the most ideal way to deliver a gift but it may be the only way under certain circumstances.
As previously mentioned any decisions made at the point of delivery are left to the discretion of the delivery driver. We would expect but cannot guarantee that the driver would attempt one of the three options already mentioned, a fourth option, mostly in extreme cases would be to return the gift to the florist shop. A calling card should be left requesting a call from the recipient to organise a re delivery by appointment.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > DELIVERY ADDRESS PROBLEMS
Other problems can occur associated with the delivery address.
The delivery address can prove to be incorrect, we may have been given completely incorrect information like the wrong village, the correct village in the wrong county and so on. Every effort is made to identify these problems before the gift is produced and out with the driver for delivery.
On some occasions the information given may be incorrect or out of date. The recipient may no longer live at the delivery address, the recipient may no longer be staying at the delivery address, the recipient may be on holiday, the house move may have been delayed.
We may on occasion be unable to find the delivery address. It will always be useful to have extra delivery address information. This is particularly important where a very rural location is involved, a new house has been built or the address is in a secluded position or the access is hidden.
We refer you to the links below to "order errors" and "re-deliveries"

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > DELAYS IN DELIVERY
Deliveries which are organised through our florist tend to be made locally on a more personal basis than the national courier or Royal Mail deliveries. They are made by our florists and although they may not be subject to some of the pressures of the national services they may have other reasons for delays to occur.
Typical reasons for delays in delivery are, prevailing weather conditions, the routing of the delivery vehicle, prevailing civil unrest, strike action by other workers effecting the florist, national restictions(foot & mouth regulations), national occasions, bomb threats, protest marches, volume of business, priority of funeral deliveries, shortage of staff, availability of flowers, computer errors or failure. These situations actually affect very few of our deliveries but must be mentioned as they can happen.
Every effort would be made to keep any customer informed should we be notified of any delays in delivery which cause the non delivery of our customers gift on the intended day.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > DAMAGED GOODS
Every gift which is ordered from us is chosen, produced and checked through our florists quality control system. All floral gifts are checked and dispatched from our florists shop for local delivery. It is not always possible to package every floral gift because of the nature of the presentation. In some cases overpackaging can cause more damage than no packaging. Those gifts which lend themselves to being packed will be packaged and nicely presented.
We have the greatest level of care and consideration when your gift is delivered by our florist driver. The driver can check that your gift remains in the same good condition as it left our florist shop and there should be no room for damage.
Having said this, should the recipient consider that the gift is damaged, they should report it to the driver at the point of delivery, signing accordingly. It could be quite important, depending upon the reaction of the delivery driver, either at that moment or soonest after, to call the florist shop and speak to the owner or manager. Their number will be on the gift.

Although any damage to a gift is unlikely, unintended and regretable it can happen. We wish every recipient to be more than happy with their gift. On calling the florist shop the owner/manager will be pleased to talk to the recipient to try to rectify the problem. (see links below)

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > THIRD PARTY DELIVERIES
When one of our gifts is ordered for delivery to a non-domestic address, it may not be personally delivered to the requested recipient by our florist driver. We are restricted by the fact that many deliveries which are made to non-domestic addresses are made to a central delivery point such as the reception or the post room. We refer to this as the "central delivery point"
This may be specific to the place where the recipient is working and to where the delivery has been addressed or it may be a collective point relative to the delivery address building. In extreme, for some deliveries, it can be an alternative physical location for a specific company where all mail or deliveries are re directed. This policy would be followed by us but stated by the company.
It is impossible for us to be responsible for the actions of other people working within the premises where the delivery is being made. We make it part of our terms & conditions, for the service we provide, that we consider our part in the delivery process has been completed once your gift has been delivered to and received by a member of the staff at the central delivery point.
We regret that we are normally unable to influence or control the movement or rate of movement of our gifts within the premises, especially to determine or guarantee how quickly they will be received by the recipient.

Although we will try to help locate a gift which not have been received by the recipient within a non-domestic location, we consider the limit of our guarantee and involvement finishes on proof of delivery to the central delivery point not the recipient. We regret that we will not entertain any complaints concerning the product and its delivery after the delivery has been made to the central delivery point.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > TAXI DELIVERY
There are certain occasions where, especially for orders placed through our telephone order service, we may organise delivery at short notice. Here the delivery may be made by dedicated florist van or by taxi.
Where the delivery is made by taxi it is very important that we are given full and accurate delivery information including the recipients phone number. The delivery will be charged at a premium rate and the journey will only be a one way journey.
We must expect that the recipient or their agent would be at home at the time of delivery. If there is nobody at home it is possible the gift may be left with a neighbour but more likely that it could be left on the doorstep at the senders risk.
If the delivery is being made to a business address we need to be sure that the business will still be open and that the recipient is likely to be there. Should the delivery arrive at the business address and the recipient has already left, earlier than expected, the driver will be expected to leave the flowers.
Deliveries made by taxi are dependant upon time and access to the delivery address. As this type of delivery is organised in good faith against the clock, we regret that we will not accept responsibility for the failure of the taxi to arrive at the location by the stated time where it has been delayed through extremes of traffic, bomb scares, fire, demonstrations or other temporary problems unknown at the time of placing the order. Where such a genuine reason has caused the delay we would expect our customer to accept delivery at the premises, the soonest possible, even if the recipient has left.
We wish to be very clear about this type of delivery making the above details part of our terms & conditions.

UK FLORIST DELIVERIES > RELAY MEMBERSHIP
We feel it is important to note that most of our deliveries are made on a national basis by florists who like ourselves are members of the Teleflorist flower relay organisation. Each florist located throughout the areas we have listed for coverage carries a wide stock of flowers, gifts, plants and sundries in relation to their location.
Our florists are trained in all aspects of floristry, they use the latest computer technology to handle large volumes of orders and are always willing to provide the best possible service at all times.
